Hello, We Are The NYU Production Lab

The NYU Production Lab is a storytelling incubator that aims to help the next generation launch thriving careers in creative industries. As a creative content incubator, the Lab serves as an experiential-learning bridge for students navigating the transition from an academic classroom to the professional creative industry.

Among its projects, the Production Lab has signed seventeen feature films; helped 13 writers develop feature-length scripts; hosted over 50 career-oriented events and panels, launched a podcast series, and so much more. The Production Lab is at the forefront of cultural entrepreneurship, preparing today’s emerging artists for the jobs of tomorrow.

Podcast Academy is the Production Lab's first venture into podcast incubation. Over the next 8 weeks, participants will attend workshops, develop a pitch, gain hands-on experience with equipment, meet with industry mentors, and receive real time feedback on their work. The workshop will culminate in a Live Pitch Event, held on September 26th, that will see each project pitch their podcast (with a completed trailer and first episode) to a live audience and industry professionals in hopes of being picked up for further development.
